Tracy I. McKaveney, CPA and Senior Manager at MahoneySabol,
to serve on the Hospital Board as well as External Audit and Finance Committees
Glastonbury, Conn. (July 24, 2018) – Tracy I. McKaveney, CPA and Senior Manager at MahoneySabol, has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hospital for Special Care (HSC) in New Britain. She has also been appointed to the External Audit Committee and Finance Committee. McKaveney was one of five new board members announced at the annual meeting held in June.
Center of Special Care, Inc., the parent company of Hospital for Special Care, was established to coordinate strategic planning for its subsidiaries and affiliates. HSC is a long term, acute care facility providing exemplary care and rehabilitation services for patients with complex medical conditions in a wide range of areas including Spinal Cord injury, Pulmonary Care, Acquired Brain Injury and Autism.

As a member of the Board of Directors, McKaveney will be responsible for general matters of the organization including reviewing and affirming the mission, vision, and long term strategy of the Hospital for Special Care. Additionally, as a member of the External Audit Committee she will review and approve the annual external audit, and as a member of the Finance Committee she will monitor the financial health of the organization.
“I am honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Hospital for Special Care,” said McKaveney. “The need for specialty hospitals is something I’ve understood since as I was young, as I personally witnessed the benefit my grandmother received from their care. As a result, I’ve been passionate about becoming more involved with HSC, especially after years of involvement with the Traveler’s Championship which benefits the organization, and I am eager to do my part for this important organization.”
As a Senior Manager in the Attest Department at MahoneySabol, McKaveney is responsible for managing audits, reviews and compilations. She also handles accounting consulting for clients. She specialize in providing audit and accounting advisory services to both public and private companies in various industries including renewable energy, manufacturing, retail, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans. McKaveney also co-founded MahoneySabol’s Women’s Initiative to foster professional development for women through networking events.
McKaveney is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, MetroHartford Alliance, and Hartford Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs of the MetroHartford Alliance.
Apart from her professional affiliations, McKaveney, of Rocky Hill, Conn., served as chairman of the 2009 Traveler’s Championship, is a member of the finance council at Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish, and is heavily involved in the planning and execution of the Annual MahoneySabol 5K.
