Tracy McKaveney is a Partner within the Assurance Services Department of MahoneySabol. As partner, she has overall responsibility for all work performed on client attest engagements and maintains continued contact through review of engagement documentation, discussion with client personnel and engagement personnel. Tracy also focuses on ensuring that professional staff are updated on all professional pronouncements, adhering to the firm’s quality control standards, and working with the attest group to improve uniformity and efficiency.

Tracy manages the firms’ clients in three distinct industries: not-for-profit, renewable energy, and breweries. Beyond those industries, she also works with manufacturers, real estate, and construction contractors.

Tracy believes strongly in developing close relationships with clients in order to serve them as a true business advisor. She also works diligently to train and mentor other team members.

Tracy has over twenty years of auditing and consulting experience concentrated primarily in nonprofit and privately held companies. She began her accounting career at a small public accounting firm, followed by an internal audit manager position for CHAN Healthcare Auditors, LLC. In this role, Tracy examined internal controls and recommended improvement in various areas, which she applies to clients in her current position.

Tracy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (concentration in Accounting) from Bryant University and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.

Accreditation, Designation and Professional & Civic Activities

Tracy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).

She is a member of the board of directors and Chair of the Finance Committee of The Hospital for Special Care and a member of the finance council of the Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish in Rocky Hill.

Tracy has also served on a variety of other nonprofit boards, including the Greater Hartford Jaycees and LiveKind. She served as the volunteer tournament chairman of the 2009 Travelers Championship. She is also active in the MetroHartford Alliance and the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce.

Tracy is a member of the Hartford Business Journal 40 under forty – class of 2014, and received the CTCPA New and Young Professionals to Watch award in 2013.
